Sight and Sound

Thanks to some amazingly wonderful and generous parents, the junior class has the fantastic opportunity to attend the "In the Beginning" show at the Sight and Sound theater in Strasburg, PA next Tuesday, September 25. We will leave the school after the juniors eat lunch (quickly and first in line) at 1:00 and won't return until approximately 9:00 p.m. Sack suppers will be provided for all students. We coordinated this event with the ITED testing so the students won't have as much homework to worry about. We are very excited about this opportunity to experience the power of dramatic presentations combined with the amazing story of Creation! If you would like to know more about the presentation, you are welcome to visit the website: http://www.sight-sound.com

September Summer Fades into Autumn

September

Departing summer hath assumed

An aspect tenderly illumed,

The gentlest look of spring;

That calls from yonder leafy shade

Unfaded, yet prepared to fade,

A timely carolling.

The Legend of King Arthur

The seniors are studying medieval British literature and focusing right now on Le Morte d'Arthur, the classic tale compiled from French and English legend by Sir Thomas Mallory. It was originally published in 1485 by the British printer William Caxton. By reading this story we can gain a valuable glimpse into medieval life. The legend of King Arthur continues to live on in stories and cinema. What images come to your mind when you hear that name?
